Boney James Lancaster Concert reviews
One for the hometown crowd
The setlist on this tour has been expanded to include some lesser-known album tracks (Blackberry, Girl From A Pawnshop, One Mirror Too Many), and I was thrilled to see the boys finally doing so. The presumption that most shows were nearly identical with heavy-on-the-hits set lists has been shattered by the opening of Good Friday and Under A Mountain. The band played to an excitable crowd for a bit over two hours. Stellar performances were delivered by Chris Robinson's voice and Rich's guitar work. Jackie Greene's addition as the second guitarist allowed Rich to stretch a little more. Although Jackie fits into the band nicely and is a GREAT player, I still believe Luther Dickinson was the best thing that ever happened to the Boney James Crowes. A very tight and interesting set was brought to you by the pre-eminent rock and roll band in America. Go see this amazing band!
